Extreme Mountain Bike Show

Extreme Educational Road Safety Production

RJ Ride Guide has developed a unique and successful Road Safety Educational Show, which not only educates but entertains and captures the pupil’s attention in a ‘Very Cool’ way for primary, secondary schools and colleges.

Our services are utilized by The NHS Primary Care Trust, Councils and Local Authorities, Schools, Colleges, Road Safety Officers, Sport Development Officers, and Healthy Schools Coordinators for their projects.

Working to promote ‘National Bike Week’, ‘Health & Safety Week’, ‘Health & Leisure Week’, ‘Science Week’, ‘Sports Week’, ‘Play Day Events' and 'Environment Days'.

The rider’s commentary covers subjects about road safety, safer cycling, wearing helmets, healthy eating, and the benefits of exercise for a healthier life style, responsibility and respect to others, cycle training, promoting cycling as a great form of transport and beneficial for the environment.

We believe this is an innovative way of informing and educating pupils through an extreme sport and the messages received will remain with them for life hopefully inspiring a new generation of cyclists.

The show is performed by Rich Johnson, a professional mountain biker and qualified Instructor, who has been involved in BMX Racing and Mountain Biking for over 20 years, Rich has won many competitions and championships.

Rich shares his passion and enthusiasm about all form of cycling, with the forthcoming Olympics 2012 and Commonwealth Games 2014 he explains that with hard work and dedication you can achieve anything.

Our day structure includes up to 2x 60 minute shows, this can be tailored for the individual year groups watching and we can easily cater up to 450 pupils per show. The shows self contained equipment can be set up for indoor or outdoor use.

We interact with the pupils throughout the show followed by a question and answer session. We work closely with the teaching staff and provide a follow-up questionnaire for classroom work.

Review from All Saints Community Primary School

"Rich not only entertained but also educated the children in road safety, wearing bike helmets, healthy eating and the benefits of exercise. His manner and delivery were clear and concise and he held the children's interest and attention throughout. His ability during the stunts and tricks was awe inspiring with lots of gasps and cheers. We believe that this is an innovative way of informing and educating pupils though an Extreme Sport and hopefully the messages the children received today will remain with them for life."
